Consumer Credit of Des Moines is a non-profit community service agency dedicated to helping individuals and families navigate financial challenges. As Iowa's largest credit counseling service, we have been guiding people toward financial stability since 1987 through personalized counseling, debt consolidation, and structured repayment programs.

Founded in 1987 by Tom and Lee Ann Coates, along with Carl and Nancy Coates, Consumer Credit of Des Moines was built on a foundation of exceptional credit counseling and customer service. Under their leadership, the organization became the largest credit counseling service in Iowa within just five years.

Each year we assist thousands of households with our educational programs and provide resources to even more. Our repayment plans return substantial funds to unsecured creditors, empowering clients to take control of their finances and avoid bankruptcy.

As active members of the Financial Counseling Association of America (FCAA) and the National Foundation for Credit Counseling (NFCC), we adhere to the highest industry standards.
