ALLISON WETZELER
Alli has been a Certified Credit Counselor with us since 2020. Alli graduated from ISU in 2006 in Finance. She worked
part time for US Bank for 10+ years and stayed home with her kids for 13 years. Alli grew up in Boone, Iowa, and now
calls Norwalk home with her husband and 3 children. Alli shares her home with 2 dogs, Daisy the mini Labradoodle and
Lucy the mini Bernedoodle. In her free time, she enjoys going to ISU Football games with family/friends, outdoor walks,
and traveling. Alli was looking for a position where she could help people with their finances, debts, and budgeting,
and she has a passion for helping others.
LISA OHNEMUS
Lisa has been with Consumer Credit since 2001, currently serving as Director and Certified Credit Counselor. She studied business at AIB College of Business, grew up in Pleasant Hill, and now resides in Indianola with her husband and two dogs. Lisa loves helping clients find solutions to pay off their debts and achieve financial freedom. She also enjoys traveling to spend time with her children and “grand doggies,” watching her husband drag race, cheering on basketball, and exploring her love for crafts.
MIKE HURT
Mike joined our staff in August 2023. Mike has worked in the Mortgage Industry for the last 18 years in a number of
diverse roles, mostly related to Underwriting. Other career experiences were in Mediation, Auditing, Loss Prevention
and Home Retention. Mike has also worked for a financial company as a Loan Officer and Branch Manager, and he was a
small business owner. He has been married for 21 years, and has two teenage daughters, which take up most of his
time with sports and activities. Since he grew up just outside of Iowa City, he is an avid Hawk fan. Mike also is an
adult youth group leader for a local church. His many years in the financial services sector will add value to his
role of Credit Counselor.
RICH PIATT
Rich Piatt has been a Certified Credit Counselor with us since May of 2012. He took a short break from credit
counseling when he retired several years ago, but we are pleased that he has returned to counsel for us part-time.
Previous to working at Consumer Credit, Rich managed an underwriting team for construction equipment and served as a
Risk Manager. Rich earned his undergraduate degree in Business Administration and a Masters in Finance from St.
Ambrose University. Rich enjoys assisting individuals through financial challenges and continues to present to
groups on money management. Outside of work Rich enjoys spending time with his grandchildren, fishing, and golf.
SCOTT STEPHANY
Scott is a Certified Credit Counselor who joined our staff in May of 2024. Prior to Consumer Credit, Scott worked as
a Mortgage Underwriter, Underwriting Team Lead, and Lending Manager over the last 29 years. Scott also has previous
experience as a Loan Officer and Branch Manager for a consumer finance company. He looks forward to using his
knowledge in the credit industry to assist individuals with their finances. Scott graduated from Iowa State
University with a B.B.A. in finance. He grew up in Sioux City, IA, but has resided in central Iowa for the last 30
years. He is married and has three adult children with whom he enjoys spending time with. He also enjoys attending
ISU football games with his extended family and spending time outdoors golfing, biking, fishing, and hiking.
TERESA BAUMANN
Teresa has been a Certified Credit Counselor with us since November 2021. Teresa graduated from ISU in 2001 in
Finance. Prior to Consumer Credit she worked in the Property and Casualty Insurance industry as a Compliance Manager
as well as in the Product development and underwriting fields. She has also worked as a Financial Planning Associate
and Financial Coach for many years. Teresa grew up in Sioux City, Iowa and has lived in West Des Moines, Iowa for
the past 20 years with her husband and 2 kids. In her free time, she enjoys ISU Football and basketball games and
watching her kids in their sporting and dance events. Teresa’s passion is to help others feel empowered in the
area of their finances and to provide support and encouragement along the way.
