Thrifting for Saving

A friend of mine recently posted on Facebook.  It said “Instead of a party bus that stops at bars, who would join me on a party bus that stops at thrift stores?”  I immediately said “I’m in!”   This would be so fun!  There is plenty of room under the bus for everyone’s treasures, and it’s always fun to see what the others found, and how much they saved.

I overheard a co-worker talking about how her teenage daughter wanted to go to the thrift store.  She was looking for Mom jeans.  (They are making a comeback).  My co-worker proceeded to list of all the treasures her and her daughter found, and then was quite pleased with herself when she said what she paid for all of it.

With back-to-school shopping in full force, why not give the thrift stores a try?  I’ve found several items with the tags still on in these stores.  I’ve also found designer clothes for a mere fraction of what they would be new.  You have to have time and patience to go through the racks to find all the treasures, but it can definitely be worth it.  The rush of the savings is an added bonus.  Good luck and happy thrifting!
